Detailing Clays & Clay Lubricants
Using Clay is the best way to prepare your paint for restoration.  We recommend using clay before you seal or polish.  Clay can be used with a detergent to remove stubborn stains like tree sap.  The clay will remove any bonded contaminants that washing will not remove.  This de-contaminates the paint leaving it clean, pure and ready for finish, polish or compound.  Clay ensures that you don't seal in the harmful contaminates or grind them into the paint with your polisher.   When using clay, you have to lubricate the paint so the clay glides across the paint and does not hang or skip.  Better now than clay is the clay towel.  Where a clay bar is generally good for 3-5 uses, the clay towel can be washed and used numerous times.  Using a product like wipe and shine or optimum car wax will leave the paint clean, slick and protected in one step.  Use the clay on glass to get a slick surface that repels water.
