Auto Detailing Clay

Auto Detailing Clay

Using auto detailing clay is the best way to prepare your paint for restoration.  We recommend using clay before you seal or polish.

You can use clay with a detergent to remove stubborn stains like tree sap.  The clay will remove any bonded contaminants that washing will not remove. This process de-contaminates the paint, leaving it clean, pure, and ready for finish, polish, or compound.

Clay helps you avoid sealing in the harmful contaminates or grinding them into the paint with your polisher. When using clay, lubricate the paint so the clay glides across the paint and does not hang or skip.

You can also use a clay towel, which offers several benefits. Where a clay bar is generally good for 3-5 uses, you can wash the clay towel and use it numerous times.  A product like Wipe and Shine or Optimum Car Wax will leave the paint clean, slick, and protected in one step.  Use the clay on the glass to get a slick surface that repels water.

For the best results, pair your auto detailing clay with a quality clay lubricant. This step allows the clay to move smoothly over the paint, reducing the risk of marring or scratching.

Detailing clay bars and clay lubricants work together to lift away stubborn dirt, leaving a perfectly smooth surface. Whether you’re a professional detailer or a car enthusiast, investing in these products makes a difference in the overall appearance and longevity of your vehicle’s paint job.
