Pressure Washing Trailer at Landfill
Brad came to us because his pressure washer was worn out in every way. He runs a landfill in Mississippi, and he explained that a pressure washer is a critical piece of equipment. They operate a Cat 836 Compactor in the landfill that runs constantly in a harsh environment. The dust and dirt in the air will often clog the fins in the radiator. If left unchecked, that clogged radiator can let the $200,000 engine overheat. The expense of the potentially damaged engine is a small cost compared to the loss of production. There are countless other pieces of heavy equipment that need regular maintenance and washing on the site.
Much of the time, the pressure washer would be stationary, but on occasion, it would have to go into the landfill.
Our Catamount trailer was a perfect choice. The compact size makes it easy to maneuver, and the higher ground clearance will allow transport off-road. We elected to install the Cougar LFT pressure washer with the Vanguard engine, hot water that has an output of 5 gallons per minute at 3500 pounds per square inch.
Because most of the time, the machine would be stationary, we added a garden hose reel plumbed to a float valve. This allows for continuous operation when hooked up to a spigot. To encourage operators to put away the hose and eliminate a trip hazard, we installed a Hannay Electric rewind reel. We also installed integrated wand holders to keep the wands out of the dirt, extending their lifespan.
This machine is built tough and will thrive for years to come in a very tough environment..
