Pressure Washer Install on Vac Truck

James came to us with an interesting challenge.  He manages a fleet of Vacuum Trucks that clean out water meter pits.  The pits need to be vacuumed out regularly so the meters can be read and to have access to the shutoff.  Many times, these pits have been neglected and need more attention than just vacuuming out the water.   Oftentimes, sediment gets in the pit, dries out and can be as hard as concrete.  In these instances, the vac truck can't clean the pit, and James has to drive past a billable job.  He needed a mobile pressure washer to break up the dirt and clean the meters.

To break up tough, solidified dirt, we needed some power.  We also need durability since these trucks run 5 days a week, all day.  We elected to use a Landa HD Gas series pressure washer.  We went with a 4-gallon-per-minute model that provides up to 4000psi.  We chose the belt drive model for the additional longevity you get from a belt drive machine.

These jobs only take about 2 minutes, so we only needed a 50-gallon fresh water tank.  This will be quick to fill, last most of the day, and save room on the flatbed for other equipment and tools.   Some of the tools used in this operation are very long.  The required us to plumb the tank under the truckbed to preserve the full length of the truckbed.  We also wanted a longer wand so the operator could stand back and not get wet.  The trubo nozzle will make the job even quicker.
