Hot Water Pressure Washer Built for Apartment Building Cleaning
Chris came to us because he had a contract to clean several local apartment complexes. These apartments were larger, multi-building, multi-story complexes. Speed was important because the landlords did not want to disrupt the tenants more than necessary. The parking lots were sometimes small and difficult to maneuver, so a huge trailer wasn't practical. We needed to wash the breezeways, sidewalks, buildings, and dumpster pads.
To keep the unit easy to maneuver, we elected to start with the Catamount 200 trailer system, a single axle unit with the ability to carry 200 gallons of fresh water. Nearly every building has access to a garden hose, so a larger capacity is not needed.
The pressure washer is a Cougar LFT Hot water unit that will have no problem cleaning up oil spots in the parking areas and dumpster pads. The 5 gallon per minute water volume will be plenty enough to wash away dirt and debris.
The 200-gallon water capacity will be great for small jobs, but for bigger jobs, we installed a garden hose reel plumbed to a float tank. This will allow for continuous operation without spilling or running out of water.
To reach upper-story breezeways, we went with an electric rewind reel from Hannay with 500ft of capacity. This huge reach will speed up the cleaning becuase time won't be wasted on moving the trailer unit.
To adhere to the safety requirements of the apartment complexes, we added a blinking safety light.
